Health and Safety Awareness
1 day course
This one day Health & Safety Awareness course is a popular first step towards gaining the CSCS Labourer’s Card (previously the Green Card) and could progress towards completing other courses for supervisors or managers. The course is for those who are new to or are thinking of entering the construction industry, and gives an awareness of health and safety and how it affects them in their daily activities.
The course is recognised by the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) as meeting the standards required on their construction sites.
Requirements:
Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
Content:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act and legal responsibilities
- Individual responsibilities for your own safety and others affected
- How a better safety culture and higher standards can be achieved on site
- Typical construction hazards and how they can be controlled
- Working at height
- Manual Handling
- Fire
- Occupational health
- Work equipment
Course Delivery/Assessment
The course is delivered in an open and interactive manner, and involves the use of case studies and group work. There is a multiple choice test at the end of the course which must be passed in order to obtain the certificate.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate – please allow roughly 10 weeks for the certificate to arrive with you following the course.
